Terms of Use

Last updated: June 2026

By using Nook, you agree to these terms. Please read them.

Who we are

Nook is made by Rohan S, trading as Moonga Studio, an independent developer. Contact: hello@moonga.studio.

Age requirement

Nook is intended for users aged 13 and over. If you are under 13, please do not use the app. Users under 18 should have parental or guardian consent. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Use of the app

Nook is a virtual co-working space. You may use it to focus, study, or work alongside others. You must not use it to harass, abuse, or harm other users, or to share illegal content.

Anonymous nicknames

You are identified only by an anonymous nickname. Do not attempt to impersonate real people or use nicknames intended to offend or mislead others.

Chat messages

Messages in rooms are visible to other users in the same room and are deleted automatically after 24 hours. Do not share personal information, illegal content, or anything you wouldn't want to be seen by strangers.

Friends and direct messages

You can connect with specific people as friends and exchange private one-to-one messages and room invites. Direct messages are visible only to you and the person you are messaging, and — unlike room chat — are kept until deleted rather than removed automatically after 24 hours. Treat them like any private conversation: do not use them to harass others or to share illegal or harmful content. You can remove a friend, block someone, or delete messages you have sent at any time.

Keeping the screen on

Nook offers an optional setting ("Keep the room glowing") that keeps your screen awake while you are in a room, so the space stays visible beside you. This can increase battery use. To limit this, Nook automatically stops holding the screen on when you have been on battery power for an extended period or your battery runs low, and whenever the app is in the background. You can turn the setting off at any time from the sound controls inside a room.

Prohibited conduct

Account suspension and termination

We reserve the right to block access to any device or account that violates these terms, without notice. If you believe your access was blocked in error, contact us at hello@moonga.studio and we will review your case within 30 days.

Intellectual property

The Nook app, including its design, code, and content, is owned by Moonga Studio. You may not copy, redistribute, or create derivative works without permission.

Disclaimer

Nook is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the app, including loss of data or interruption of service. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from these terms or your use of the app is limited to £50.

In-app purchases

Nook is currently free. If paid features are introduced in the future, pricing and terms will be clearly shown before any purchase. All purchases are subject to the Google Play or Apple App Store terms as applicable.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when the app changes significantly. We will notify you in the app before changes take effect. Continued use after that notification constitutes acceptance.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law principles. Nothing in these terms affects your rights under the consumer protection laws of your country of residence.
